MatchLog and Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced that they have expanded their partnership to scale container equipment optimisation in Singapore. The collaboration builds on their existing work in India and will integrate MatchLog’s digital platform into PIL’s Singapore operations to improve container turnaround and asset utilisation and reduce emissions.

The initiative seeks to address inefficiencies such as empty repositioning and under-utilised reuse cycles. By deploying MatchLog’s platform, containers can be turned around faster, with improved utilisation and fewer redundant movements.

At the centre of this effort is MatchLog’s STinder, a container matchmaking engine that connects import and export legs across ports, street turn yards, and inland nodes. The system uses rule-based allocation, API-enabled workflows, and real-time visibility to support operators, depots, and transporters. MatchLog says this can reduce container turnaround time from 34 days to 4 days, improve schedule reliability, and lower freight costs and carbon emissions.

Manish Singh, co-founder and region head, Southeast Asia, MatchLog, said, “Singapore is the operating heartbeat of global shipping. Integrating MatchLog with PIL’s network here makes container reuse a repeatable, at-scale practise that cuts empty repositioning, improves schedule reliability and lowers the overall logistics cost, while advancing decarbonisation targets.”

He added, “Our goal is to help the industry get more from the boxes it already owns. By aligning data, rules and partners on a single platform with PIL in Singapore, we can raise equipment availability for customers, improve fleet productivity for transport partners and deliver measurable sustainability outcomes that compound over time.”

The partnership highlights ongoing efforts to embed digital optimisation in one of the world’s busiest maritime hubs, with the aim of modernising container logistics and improving the sustainability of global supply chains.
