Deendayal Port Authority hits fastest 125 MMT cargo record
With 72 days left in the fiscal year, the port has set a speed record and is on track for a new all-time high in total annual cargo handling.;
The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla achieved the fastest-ever cargo handling of 125 million metric tons (MMT) in the current financial year. This ensures the DPA retains its leadership position among India’s Major Ports.
With 72 days still remaining in the fiscal year, the port is not only celebrating this speed record but is also on track to establish a new all-time high for total annual cargo handling.
According to an News agency ANI, this record-breaking performance is not accidental but the result of strategic improvements in several key areas. These include a focus on Operational Excellence through streamlined processes to handle higher volumes, the implementation of a Robust Infrastructure with upgrades allowing for faster turnaround times, and Efficient Planning, which ensures seamless coordination among all stakeholders involved in the logistics chain.
On Wednesday, a delegation from Denmark visited the Deendayal Port Authority. The visit focused on strengthening cooperation between the two nations, specifically within the maritime and sustainability domains, highlighting DPA's commitment to future-proofing its operations through global partnerships.
