APM Terminals Pipavav signs five-year partnership with ONGC

APM Terminals Pipavav has signed a five-year contract with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) to establish an offshore oil and gas logistics base at Pipavav Port on India’s western coastline. The partnership will support offshore operations at ONGC’s Tapti and Kutch oil fields by providing dedicated port infrastructure, with APM Terminals Pipavav serving as the company’s strategic supply base partner.

The agreement is intended to strengthen offshore logistics, enhance ONGC’s ability to service offshore assets, and contribute to India’s energy security. The port will provide facilities and services designed to ensure reliability, operational efficiency, and resilience in offshore supply chain operations.

APM Terminals Pipavav said the partnership also represents a new business opportunity for the port, showcasing its ability to manage complex offshore logistics solutions. The port’s multimodal infrastructure, warehousing facilities, and connectivity are expected to strengthen its role in India’s oil and gas logistics landscape.

APM Terminals Pipavav is a multipurpose port handling containers, dry bulk, liquid bulk, and RoRo cargo. It has a cargo handling capacity of 1.35 million TEUs of containers, 4 million metric tonnes of dry bulk, 2 million metric tonnes of liquid bulk, and 250,000 passenger cars annually. It is also India’s first public-private partnership port and the first to be connected to the Dedicated Freight Corridor.
