Transworld Shipping Lines has signed an agreement to purchase the vessel SALTWIND EXPLORER from Saltwind Explorer for $16.5 million.
The company signed the memorandum of agreement on 19 October 2026 and disclosed the transaction to the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India. According to the disclosure, the transaction is not a related-party deal, and neither party is related to the company's promoter, promoter group or group companies.
The purchase comes after Transworld Shipping Lines expanded its ownership of logistics businesses earlier this year. In February 2026, the company acquired a 100% equity stake in Transworld Integrated Logistek (TILPL) and Transworld Logistics (TLPL), making both companies its wholly owned subsidiaries.
The acquisitions were aimed at expanding the company's service capabilities and market reach, diversifying its logistics offerings and strengthening its presence across domestic and international markets. The company also expected the integration to provide greater control over its in-house vessels and reduce its dependence on third-party shipping providers and external chartering costs.
The latest vessel purchase adds to the company's developments in the shipping sector as it continues to expand its business interests across shipping and logistics.
