Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya signs MoU with SAP to skill logistics talent

SAP Labs India and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the inauguration of SAP’s Innovation Park in Bengaluru to jointly skill professionals in India’s logistics and transport sector. The collaboration aims to enable employment, enhance curriculum, and link industry with research and training in support of the Government of India’s Digital India and Skill India initiatives.
The MoU focuses on three pillars: employment enablement for GSV graduates and postgraduates through industry-relevant skills, curriculum and capacity building for students and government professionals, and research-industry linkages to strengthen logistics capabilities. SAP’s digital logistics tools and solutions will be embedded into GSV’s curriculum to train a future-ready workforce.
The event also marked the inauguration of SAP Labs India’s Innovation Park in Devanahalli, Bengaluru. Spread across 41.07 acres, the new campus will become SAP’s largest office in India, employing 15,000 professionals and anchoring global roles in AI product engineering, customer services, and delivery. It will include AI labs, startup hubs, hackathon zones, and hybrid collaboration areas.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “SAP Labs India Innovation Park in Bengaluru is a timely investment in India’s growth story. It is anchored in Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat at 2047’. This campus reflects global confidence in India’s talent and innovation ecosystem.”
The minister also highlighted the expansion of digital and electronics infrastructure under the current government and noted that over 34,000 GPUs have been made available to students, researchers, and startups through public-private partnerships to democratise access to compute power.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri Siddaramaiah, Karnataka IT Minister Shri Priyank Kharge, German Ambassador to India Dr Philipp Ackermann, and Head of SAP Labs Network Clas Neumann.
