Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR Airport) has set a new benchmark in perishable exports this Valentine’s season, shipping more than 60 million rose stems weighing over 2,700 tonnes across 26 international and 47 domestic destinations. This represents a 38% year-on-year increase in stem volumes and a 64% rise in tonnage, cementing BLR Airport’s position as India’s leading gateway for perishable cargo for the fifth consecutive year.

International shipments totalled 305 tonnes, with Singapore emerging as the top overseas destination, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, New York, and Kuwait. Newly added destinations this season include Los Angeles, London Gatwick, Dallas Fort Worth, Toronto, and Orlando.

On the domestic front, 2,402 tonnes of roses were transported, marking a 79% surge in tonnage, with Delhi and Kolkata leading demand. Notably, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Lucknow recorded growth of over 150% compared to last season.

BLR Airport’s state-of-the-art cold chain infrastructure, equipped with real-time tracking and advanced temperature management, ensured freshness and speed of delivery. These investments continue to strengthen the airport’s role as a critical hub for high-value shipments during peak demand cycles.
