Scan Global delivers cargo on time despite port rule changes
110.25-tonne shipment from Mundra to Abu Dhabi met deadline after swift coordination, escorted moves and extra documentation to overcome new port rules
Scan Global Logistics has completed a time-critical shipment of project cargo from Mundra to Abu Dhabi within the required deadline, despite sudden changes in port regulations that posed risks of delays and financial penalties.
The shipment weighed 110.25 tonnes and included a 44.5 metric tonne compressor machine, one 40-foot flat rack and three 40-foot high cube containers. With strict contractual timelines in place, any delay could have affected the project budget and exposed the customer to significant costs.
Working from a packing list and technical drawings, Scan Global Logistics designed a transport solution that balanced speed, cost efficiency and operational control. However, new port rules created unexpected operational challenges during execution.
To manage the situation, the team coordinated with port authorities, carriers and external agencies. It also arranged escorted movements and handled additional documentation requirements to ensure the cargo continued moving safely and on schedule.
The shipment was delivered within the agreed timeline, enabling the customer to meet its contractual obligations and avoid penalties.
