Ashok Leyland on April 16, 2026 announced the launch of TWIN FUEL variants of its light commercial vehicles DOST and DOST+ XL, marking a step towards more sustainable and customer-focused mobility solutions in the LCV segment.

The new models are equipped with technology that allows seamless switching between compressed natural gas (CNG) and petrol, offering greater flexibility for operators. The dual-fuel capability is designed to address range anxiety and concerns around the availability of CNG refuelling infrastructure, enabling uninterrupted journeys and longer travel distances.

The vehicles were unveiled in Delhi by Amandeep Singh, President – LCV, IO, Defence and Power Solutions, Ashok Leyland, in the presence of Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business, Ashok Leyland.

Amandeep Singh said the launch represents a significant step in the company’s focus on sustainable and customer-centric innovation. He added that the twin fuel system allows operators to run on CNG for cleaner and more cost-effective operations, while using petrol as a backup, helping reduce emissions and overall operating costs.

Viplav Shah said the DOST range already has a strong base among small businesses, and the introduction of twin fuel variants will provide greater operational flexibility and efficiency. He noted that the vehicles are aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and fleet operators by lowering emissions, reducing carbon footprint, and addressing fuel availability concerns.

In terms of specifications, the TWIN FUEL DOST offers a payload capacity of 1,218 kg and a driving range of 400 km, supported by a 120-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank for emergency use. The TWIN FUEL DOST+ XL provides a higher payload capacity of 1,410 kg, along with a 148-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank, delivering a range of up to 500 km.

The introduction of twin fuel technology in the DOST range is aimed at meeting the evolving requirements of urban and semi-urban logistics operators, last-mile delivery services, and small businesses.

The TWIN FUEL DOST is priced from ₹8.20 lakh (ex-showroom), while the TWIN FUEL DOST+ XL starts at ₹8.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
