NX Group signs MOU with ISM for semiconductor logistics
The cooperation will focus on addressing logistics challenges and developing infrastructure to support India’s semiconductor industry and resilient supply chains.

Nippon Express, also known as the NX Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) to cooperate on developing semiconductor logistics infrastructure and strengthening supply chains in India.
The MOU was signed on September 9 and will provide a framework for the two parties to work together on logistics-related challenges and infrastructure development for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The agreement comes as the NX Group expands its logistics technology and infrastructure. In August, the group launched NX-VISTA, a platform that provides a centralised view of order, shipping and inventory information from multiple systems and carriers on a single dashboard. The platform provides visibility from order placement to delivery and also brings together supplier shipping information, carrier tracking data and warehouse inventory counts.
NX-VISTA also supports multiple carriers and allows users to view transport and inventory information together. The platform provides production, sales and inventory visualisation to help identify potential stockout and excess inventory risks. The NX Group plans to add KPI reporting, risk management features, AI chatbots, mobile support and API integration with customer systems.
In India, efforts are underway under the government’s “Semicon 2.0” policy to establish a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem covering semiconductor design and manufacturing, manufacturing equipment and materials, and advanced packaging.
The transportation of precision semiconductor-related cargo requires vibration control as well as measures to address infrastructure challenges in different regions. The NX Group said developing advanced logistics infrastructure is therefore essential to supporting the semiconductor ecosystem.
The NX Group considers India one of its important markets and has set a target of increasing sales from its Indian operations to ¥60 billion by fiscal 2028. It is also expanding its logistics facilities and services, including plans to open a dedicated semiconductor logistics centre in Dholera, Gujarat, in 2027.
ISM is an initiative overseen by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and is the core agency responsible for developing infrastructure for the country’s semiconductor and display industries.
The two organisations have previously held discussions on logistics and warehouse infrastructure for India’s semiconductor sector, including a visit by an ISM delegation to the NX Group Building in Tokyo.
The signing of the MOU formalises this dialogue into a framework for cooperation. The two parties will share information and exchange views on challenges related to the transportation of semiconductor-related cargo and logistics infrastructure.
They will also consider areas of cooperation to develop logistics infrastructure that supports India’s semiconductor industry and resilient supply chains.
The NX Group said it will continue to use its global network and logistics expertise to work with customers and partners to build sustainable supply chains and address social challenges.
