Peli BioThermal, a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, has acquired Evo from BioLife Solutions, strengthening its portfolio across the pharmaceutical supply chain. The deal expands Peli BioThermal’s offerings in cryogenic shipping and the evoIS technology platform, particularly targeting the growing Cell and Gene Therapy sector.

The acquisition allows Peli BioThermal to provide a full range of cold chain solutions, giving existing customers more options while creating opportunities to engage new pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and clinical supply clients. Evo users will benefit from easier integration and access to Peli BioThermal’s global network, while the Evo product line will gain accelerated development and innovation.

This move is especially significant for Cell and Gene Therapy, where precision, reliability, and flexibility in cryogenic transport are critical for delivering life-saving therapies. Sam Herbert, CEO of Peli BioThermal, said the acquisition “rounds out our solutions portfolio and reinforces our commitment to solving our customers’ toughest cold chain challenges.”

The Evo portfolio will complement Peli BioThermal’s existing solutions, including Credo reusable shippers, NanoCool systems, Credo Vault bulk shippers, and Vero One single-use dry ice shippers. Customers will now have more flexibility to select solutions based on sustainability, performance, or operational simplicity.

The transaction marks Peli BioThermal and Pelican Products’ second add-on acquisition since being acquired by Platinum Equity. Jacob Kotzubei and Matthew Louie of Platinum Equity highlighted that the deal opens access to high-growth markets while deepening relationships with current customers.

Legal counsel for the deal was provided by Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP. The Evo team in Bruce Township, Michigan, will continue as part of Peli BioThermal, ensuring expertise and customer support while leveraging global resources for growth.
