Innovation, resilience take centre stage at ALMAC 2025 in HKCEC
Taking place at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, ALMAC 2025 focuses on emerging hubs, logistics innovation and challenges in global trade.;
The 15th edition of the Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) opened today in Hong Kong, with industry leaders gathering to discuss the rapidly evolving global trade and logistics landscape. Organised by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the two-day event brings together senior executives, policymakers and supply chain experts from around the world.
In her opening remarks, HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong highlighted the significant transformation underway in international trade networks, driven by shifting geopolitical policies, accelerated digitalisation and rising sustainability expectations. She noted that these trends are reshaping how companies build supply chains and that Hong Kong, as a major international logistics and aviation hub, remains well positioned to support businesses adapting to this new environment.
Chong emphasised HKTDC’s commitment to leveraging Hong Kong’s strengths as a “superconnector” and “super value-adder” to help companies establish resilient and sustainable supply chains. This year's conference theme, “Collaboration and Growth in the New Trade Landscape,” reflects the focus on navigating disruptions while tapping into emerging opportunities.
A key highlight of ALMAC 2025 is its exploration of new technologies and growth markets. Chong pointed to the increasing role of cargo drones in last-mile delivery, medical logistics, warehouse operations and transport to remote areas. The conference also features participation from rapidly expanding trade and logistics hubs in the Middle East and Central Asia, regions investing heavily in infrastructure and technology to strengthen their positions in global trade flows.
With panel discussions, workshops and exhibitions, the 15th ALMAC continues through tomorrow, bringing together stakeholders to assess challenges and identify growth opportunities in the changing trade landscape.
