Indian Navy endorses Maritime Nation India 2017

August 28, 2017: The Indian Navy has endorsed the 2nd edition of Maritime Nation India (MNI) 2017, South Asia’s largest Tradeshow for the Maritime and Logistics ecosystem.

Terming the 21 century as the century of the seas, Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of the Naval Staff exuded confidence that MNI 2017 will highlight opportunities for enhancing indigenisation while underlining the fact that warship building capacity is a contributor to national power.

The three day exhibition and conference- Maritime Nation India 2017, includes a conference dedicated to Shipbuilding, Ship Repair and Ship Recycling. The Indian Navy has confirmed their participation and Admiral Sanjay Mahendru, Flag officer Commanding, Maharashtra Naval Area would share his insights and present a key note at the conference.

While the maiden 2016 edition garnered participation of 2000 industry professionals and 40 exhibitors from 10 countries, the 2nd edition would have over 100 exhibitors and 5000 participants from over 20 countries.

The tradeshow includes 7 conferences on each key segment of the maritime ecosystem – Trade Lanes & Shipping, Maritime Infrastructure, Multi-modal Connectivity, Shipbuilding & Ship Repair, Finance & Investment, Automation & Training, and Cruise & Lighthouse Tourism, which will bring together industry stakeholders - decision makers, senior government officials, and business leaders, on a single platform.

Maritime Nation India 2017 has received letters of endorsement from Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping of India, Suresh Prabhu, Minster of Railways, India, Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and support from several industry associations including the Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC); Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MACCIA); Freight Forwarders Association in India” (FFFAI); Brihanmumbai Custom House Agents' Association (BCHAA); Association of Multimodal Transport of India (AMTOI); Shipbuilders & Ship Repairers Association (SSA)-UK.
