How Siemens helps companies to transform their supply chain, explains Alex Teo & Emre Akbağ

At transport logistic and air cargo Southeast Asia in Singapore, Siemens leaders Alex Teo and Emre Akbağ explained how technology is reshaping supply chains, manufacturing and cargo movement.

Alex Teo began by describing Siemens Digital Industries Software as a “full portfolio company” that offers end-to-end solutions, “from requirement gathering to design to engineering to production planning to manufacturing execution and then supply chain logistics.” He explained why this matters. Most companies use disconnected systems, and “when you don’t have that trusted data flow across the entire value chain, you can’t compress it.” Siemens wants to fix this.

Emre Akbağ compared the rise of Asia to a culinary revolution. “In the past, maybe Asia was providing the ingredients. Now Asia is designing the restaurant.” He described a region where supply chains are maturing fast, investments are accelerating, and digitalisation is seen as the only path to scale. He reminded us that by 2030, “50% of the global transportation is expected to run in inner Asia.”
