DP World Mundra handles 1.5 million TEUs in FY24–25
DP World Mundra’s throughput rises 13.6% to nearly 1.5 million TEUs in FY24–25 as vessel calls and rail volumes grow.

DP World’s Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) handled nearly 1.5 million TEUs in FY24–25, marking a 13.6% increase in throughput and reinforcing its role as a key gateway for India’s EXIM trade.
The growth continued into early 2026, with January volumes reaching 1,46,063 TEUs and February volumes touching 1,32,590 TEUs. Both months recorded higher volumes compared with the same period last year.
The increase in cargo was supported by a 6.57% rise in vessel calls, which reached 762 during FY24–25. Higher container volumes moved by rail have also strengthened the terminal’s multimodal connectivity with India’s hinterland.
Infrastructure upgrades at the terminal have further supported the growth. These include the commissioning of a new quay crane and additional electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs), which have improved berth productivity and operational efficiency.
Commenting on the performance, Alok Mishra, CEO, Ports & Terminals, DP World Mundra, said sustained double-digit growth during FY24–25 and continued momentum into 2026 reflect the terminal’s ability to manage increasing vessel calls and rail volumes even amid global volatility. He added that the company remains focused on delivering reliable and efficient operations to support India’s expanding EXIM trade.
With direct connections to the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, East and West Africa, the US East Coast and the Mediterranean, DP World Mundra plays an important role in supporting Gujarat’s ambition of becoming a global trade hub in the region.
The terminal is also advancing its sustainability initiatives. DP World is expanding electrification across Mundra operations with the deployment of electric light motor vehicles (E-LMVs), electric forklifts and upcoming electric internal transfer vehicles (e-ITVs). The terminal has also received the ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ certification from the National Productivity Council of India.
Beyond operations, DP World Mundra is also working on community development in nearby areas. Through programmes such as the Pragati Scholarship Programme, the company supports girl students in pursuing education, while two mobile medical vans provide healthcare services to around 40,000 patients every year in and around Mundra.
