ATC completes first dedicated Nepal-bound NMG rake movement
The train carried 100 Mahindra tractors from Nagpur to Raxaul, with the end-to-end movement managed by ATC, establishing a new rail corridor for automotive cargo.
ATC has completed its first dedicated Nepal-bound NMG rake, transporting 100 Mahindra tractors from Nagpur to Raxaul on the Nepal border on 23 July 2026. The end-to-end movement was managed by the ATC team, according to Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Managing Director of ATC Global Logistics.
Bhadkamkar said the operation marks an important addition to the company's cross-border multimodal logistics capabilities. It also establishes a new rail corridor connecting India and Nepal for automotive cargo while building on ATC's experience of handling 23 NMG rakes for Bangladesh.
"ATC is pleased to announce the successful execution of its first dedicated Nepal-bound NMG rake, carrying 100 Mahindra tractors from Nagpur to Raxaul (Nepal Border) on 23 July 2026. The movement was managed end-to-end by the ATC team," Bhadkamkar said.
He added that the successful completion of the movement reflects "the confidence placed in ATC by Mahindra & Mahindra, the commitment of our operations team, and the invaluable support of Indian Railways in facilitating the movement of this specially designed NMG rake."
