V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority has dispatched 100 VinFast electric vehicles from its marshalling yard at Tuticorin to Ballabhgarh, Haryana, by rail using the newly introduced NMG (Newly Modified Goods) wagons.

The consignment was flagged off in the presence of Sanjiv Garg, IRTS, former Additional Member of the Railway Board; Sriram V., IRTS, former Director of IRCTC; and officials from VinFast and V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority.

The dispatch was handled through the port's marshalling yard, which has been developed across 16.25 acres. The facility includes dedicated RCC loading platforms, internal road infrastructure and seamless rail connectivity to support efficient cargo movement.

According to the port authority, the latest dispatch demonstrates the port's growing capability to support automobile logistics, multimodal connectivity and faster cargo evacuation through purpose-built infrastructure. It added that the facility is designed to provide industry with a modern and efficient gateway for cargo movement.
