India Post debuts as logistics partner on ONDC with first online order
The first order was booked on January 13, 2026, by ONDC-enabled UdyamWell, which supports Bharatpreneurs—artisans, farmers, and rural entrepreneurs.

The Department of Posts (India Post) has officially commenced operations as a Logistics Service Provider (LSP) on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
In a statement released on 15 January, the Ministry of Communications confirmed that the postal department successfully delivered its inaugural parcel on January 15, 2026, just two days after the order was booked.
The first order was booked on January 13, 2026, by UdyamWell, an ONDC-enabled initiative dedicated to supporting Bharatpreneurs, including artisans, farmers, and rural entrepreneurs by providing them with comprehensive digital services.
"Department of Posts achieved the successful booking of its first online order through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) on January 13, 2026, acting in the capacity of a Logistics Service Provider (LSP). The consignment was successfully delivered today on January 15, 2026," said the official statement.
This integration allows sellers across various ONDC-enabled buyer applications to leverage India Post’s unparalleled nationwide reach for parcel pickup, booking, transmission, and final delivery.
To facilitate seamless operations, India Post has integrated with the platform using a Click & Book model, simplifying logistics for sellers through a tech-enabled system.
This process allows sellers to digitally generate pickup requests via the ONDC interface, select India Post as their preferred logistics partner, and have parcels collected directly from their premises. Postage is collected during the pickup, and consignments are then entered into the Department's logistics system, enabling end-to-end tracking and delivery.
