Godrej Enterprises Group’s (GEG) Storage Solutions business has marked 25 years of its Chennai manufacturing facility and announced continued investments across its Chennai and Bengaluru facilities to accelerate innovation, automation and next-generation warehousing infrastructure.

Backed by more than 70 years of expertise in intralogistics, the business said the investments will support the development of advanced warehousing infrastructure as India’s economy continues to expand, driven by e-commerce, quick commerce and manufacturing.

The company said warehousing has become a critical pillar of supply chain resilience, efficiency and competitiveness. Over the years, Godrej Enterprises Group has established a strong position in storage and intralogistics solutions, supporting India’s supply chain modernisation and industrial growth.

The Chennai facility has evolved into a key manufacturing and engineering hub, strengthening its ability to deliver large-scale intralogistics solutions through continuous capability expansion and operational improvements. Supported by a network of customers, partners and suppliers, the facility today produces high-precision systems designed for automated and high-density warehousing environments.

The business is further enhancing its capabilities through automation-led manufacturing, precision engineering and integrated digital design-to-delivery systems. Ongoing upgrades at the Chennai facility, along with capacity expansion in Bengaluru, are aimed at enabling faster execution, greater precision and scalable delivery of complex intralogistics projects.

Vikas Choudaha, Business Head, Storage Solutions, Godrej Enterprises Group, said the 25-year milestone reflects the company’s efforts to scale its capabilities in line with the changing needs of India’s logistics and warehousing sector.

He said the industry is witnessing sustained growth driven by e-commerce, manufacturing and third-party logistics, with annual warehousing absorption exceeding 39 million sq ft. According to Choudaha, the increasing complexity and speed of supply chains are driving demand for intelligent, technology-led and future-ready infrastructure.

He added that Godrej Enterprises Group is investing in advanced engineering, innovation and automation-led capabilities to support this transition. Backed by its ‘Make in India’ foundation and 70-year legacy, the company said one in every three warehouses in India is powered by its racking solutions and that it has recorded a compound annual growth rate of 17% over the past five years.

The company has delivered advanced intralogistics solutions including automated racking systems and rack-clad warehouses designed for high-density, high-throughput operations. These solutions help optimise vertical space, improve operational efficiency and reduce land dependency.

Godrej Enterprises Group said its manufacturing operations also incorporate sustainability measures, including real-time monitoring and optimisation of energy and water consumption in line with its long-term environmental objectives.

The business currently exports to more than 40 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, ASEAN and Australia, reflecting its ability to deliver engineering-led intralogistics solutions on a global scale.

Looking ahead, the company said it will continue to focus on automation, digital transformation and sustainability as it seeks to support India’s ambitions of becoming a globally competitive manufacturing and logistics hub.
