Godrej Enterprises Group’s Storage Solutions business delivered a 120-foot automated racking system (ARS) rack-clad warehouse to a major pharmaceutical company.

The towering high-bay facility is a unified, innovative system that seamlessly integrates structural racking, advanced robotics and automation, and external architectural cladding into a single standalone structure.

According to the company's press release, the new facility was designed to maximise vertical space, enabling scalable growth without the need for proportional increases in land use or lengthy construction timelines.

The facility boasts a highly compact and efficient design, covering a footprint of 11,490 square feet. Its key specifications are a length of 216 feet (66 meters) and a width of 56 feet (17 meters).

This space efficiently provides a capacity of 6,316 pallet positions for high-density storage, all managed by a fully automated storage and retrieval system that requires minimal manual intervention for operations.

“This first/one-of-its-kind ARS rack‑clad warehouse enables scale, efficiency, and reliability, all within a compact footprint, and reflects our commitment to building future‑ready solutions for industries that are vital to India’s economic growth.” said Vikas Choudaha, Business Head of Storage Solutions, Godrej Enterprises Group

By utilising vertical capacity so effectively, the system promises to enhance inventory accuracy, throughput, traceability, and operational reliability, all crucial factors in meeting the stringent, high-volume demands of modern pharmaceutical operations.

The release further said that first, the core rack structure was established during the assembly phase. This was followed by the precision installation stage, which involved complex on-site activities that demanded strict adherence to both safety standards and engineering precision.

The final stage, cladding, involved sealing the structure with external cladding, effectively transforming the internal racking into a fully enclosed, weather-proof, and standalone automated warehouse.
