Shri Ajit Kumar Panda has been recommended for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) by the Public Enterprises Selection Board, marking a key leadership transition at the Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways.

The Chamber of Railway Industries has extended its congratulations to Shri Panda on the recommendation. He is currently serving as Director (Projects & Services) at CONCOR and brings decades of experience across railway infrastructure, logistics and project execution.

Shri Panda’s professional journey includes leadership roles at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and the Ministry of Railways, where he has contributed to large-scale infrastructure development and policy initiatives. His association with railway special purpose vehicles such as Haridaspur Paradip Railway Company Limited, Angul Sukinda Railway Limited, Kutch Railway Company Limited and Krishnapatnam Railway Company Limited reflects his experience in project financing, execution and public-private partnership frameworks.

Upon approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Shri Panda will succeed Shri Sanjay Swarup as CMD of CONCOR. The transition comes at a time when the company is playing an increasingly important role in strengthening India’s multimodal logistics and freight ecosystem.

The Rail Chamber said it looks forward to Shri Panda’s leadership in further enhancing CONCOR’s contribution towards efficient, sustainable and future-ready rail logistics in India.
