Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone has appointed Niraj Bansal as Chief Executive Officer – Ports with effect from June 1, 2026, following the departure of Pranav Choudhary, who will step down on May 31, 2026 to pursue opportunities outside the Adani Group.

The company disclosed the senior management changes in a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.

Bansal is a former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer with more than 27 years of service with the Government of India. He took voluntary retirement as Commissioner of Income Tax and later served as Deputy Chairman and Chairman-in-charge of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) from 2014 to 2019.

According to the filing, JNPT achieved record performance during his tenure, including handling 66 million metric tonnes of cargo in FY2017-18, the highest since the port’s inception.

Bansal joined the Adani Group in October 2022 and has since served as Chief Executive Officer – Hazira Port. He is currently Chief Executive Officer – New Port Project Development, Maharashtra, where he has been responsible for project development and operational preparedness.
