IOC transports 1st consignment of AVGAS 100 LL from APM Terminals

Container carrying 80 barrels of AVGAS 100 LL aviation fuel was loaded on MV Sofia, a Maersk service vessel

APM Terminals Mumbai [GTI] partnered with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to export the first consignment of aviation fuel AVGAS 100 LL from India.

"AVGAS 100 LL is used in trainer aircraft. IOC indigenously produces the fuel in India from September 2022. This is the first time AVGAS 100 LL is being exported from India," says a release from APM Terminals.

 The container carrying 80 barrels of AVGAS 100 LL was loaded safely on MV Sofia, a Maersk service vessel, the release added. The export event was flagged off by Shrikant Vaidya, Chairman and Managing Director, IOC, Unmesh Wagh, Deputy Chairman, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and Sunay Mukerjee, Chief Operating Officer, GTI.

 “We at GTI are extremely humbled and honoured to be a part of Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India by facilitating the first consignment of AVGAS 100 LL export from our terminal," says Mukerjee. "We are thankful to IOC for choosing our terminal for this historic milestone. We are committed to serve our customers by turning around their cargo safely and swiftly at our terminal.”
