The Great Eastern Shipping Company (G E Shipping) announced on 18 December that it has entered into a contract to sell the Jag Aarati, a 2011-built Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier. According to the press release, the vessel, which has a capacity of approximately 80,324 deadweight tonnage (dwt), is scheduled for delivery to an unaffiliated third party during the fourth quarter of the 2026 fiscal year.

Following the completion of this sale, the company’s owned fleet will consist of 40 vessels with a combined capacity of 3.32 million dwt.

This diversified fleet includes 26 tankers, comprising six crude tankers, 16 product tankers, and four LPG carriers alongside 14 dry bulk carriers, which include two Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, and two Supramax vessels.

In addition to the Jag Aarati divestment, G E Shipping is currently executing several other strategic fleet adjustments. The company has already contracted to sell one Suezmax crude tanker, with that transaction expected to conclude in the third quarter of FY26.

On the acquisition front, the firm has agreed to purchase a secondhand Ultramax dry bulk carrier, which is slated to join the fleet in the final quarter of the 2026 fiscal year.

As of 2.09 pm, the share price of Great Eastern Shipping on the National Stock Exchange was up by 0.18% at ₹1,114.00 per share.
