Envirotainer has opened a new station in Navi Mumbai, expanding its network in one of the world's largest pharmaceutical manufacturing and export hubs. The facility is the company's sixth station in India and doubles the capacity of its existing Mumbai operation, providing greater access to temperature-controlled solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturers.

The new station offers customers access to Envirotainer's full portfolio of temperature-controlled packaging solutions. It also introduces local preconditioning capabilities for its Parcel and ProofTainer solutions, helping improve preparation times and strengthen cold chain integrity from origin. A dedicated repair and service centre is also scheduled to open in the coming months, providing full-cycle cold chain support to customers across the region.

The facility has been established to support the western India pharmaceutical corridor and is positioned ahead of the expected launch of cargo operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport later this year. Envirotainer said the investment will help meet future demand for temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics in the region.

India continues to play a key role in global healthcare supply chains. The country supplies around 20% of the world's generic medicines and 55-60% of UNICEF's vaccine requirements. Pharmaceutical exports reached $30.5 billion in 2024-25, increasing the need for reliable cold chain infrastructure to ensure medicines and vaccines reach patients safely.

Aymeric Chandavoine, CEO of Envirotainer said, "India is one of the world's most important pharmaceutical manufacturing and export hubs, and the responsibility that places on the cold chain is significant. The opening of our Navi Mumbai station reflects our long-term commitment to supporting India's pharmaceutical industry and helping ensure that life-saving treatments reach patients safely, wherever they are."

Edward Ng, Vice President Operations APAC at Envirotainer said, "Our customers operate in a complex and fast-moving environment where reliability is critical. By expanding our presence in Navi Mumbai, we are bringing greater capacity, local preconditioning capabilities and enhanced service support closer to one of India's most important pharmaceutical export corridors. This investment helps ensure our customers have access to the solutions and support they need to keep critical shipments moving."

Customers using the Navi Mumbai station will have access to Envirotainer's full range of temperature-controlled solutions. These include the RelEye, E-Tech and T-Tech active containers, the ProofTainer Series of advanced passive containers, and the ProofPak, OnePak and OnePal parcel and single-use solutions. Local preconditioning will be available for the ProofTainer Series as well as the ProofPak, OnePak and OnePal solutions.
