YCH Logistics (India), the Indian arm of Singapore’s YCH Group, has announced a major expansion of its Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) operations, managing a tenfold increase in suppliers for leading global electronics and technology manufacturers. The move strengthens India’s manufacturing supply chain resilience by enhancing visibility, operational integration, and material flow efficiency.

Over the past decade, YCH India has grown from managing two suppliers for a single OEM to handling more than 35 suppliers under the same VMI programme. This steady growth underscores the company’s focus on supplier diversification and manufacturing efficiency, ensuring reduced inventory holding costs and uninterrupted production across multiple locations.

With over 15 years of experience in SEZ-based VMI operations, YCH India has established a cross-border supply chain linking supplier hubs in Shanghai and Hong Kong with its SEZ and DTA facilities in Chennai. Acting as an extension of clients’ manufacturing plants, the company synchronises inbound material movements and production schedules to maintain cost efficiency and reliability.

YCH’s proprietary MX3 middleware platform provides real-time ERP and EDI integration between suppliers, warehouses, and customer production lines. This digital backbone improves visibility, minimises manual intervention, and supports predictive inventory management, a vital capability in today’s fast-paced manufacturing environment.

“As India becomes a hub for global electronics manufacturing, the need for supply chain visibility and supplier coordination has never been greater,” said Jossy Sebastian, Country General Manager – India, YCH Logistics. “Our VMI model allows clients to align supply with production demand in real time while managing a diverse supplier ecosystem efficiently. The result is reduced working capital pressure and higher production reliability.”

As an Importer of Record (IOR), YCH India also oversees customs compliance, shipment consolidation, and just-in-time deliveries under India’s SEZ framework, ensuring smooth cross-border trade for multinational manufacturers.

Operating across more than 40 cities and 50 locations, with over 1 million sq. ft. of warehousing space, including India’s first LEED Gold-certified Green Warehouse in Chennai, YCH India continues to set benchmarks in sustainable, technology-led logistics and manufacturing enablement.
