NTC tests 400-MT Girder Bridge for heavy cargo moves
NTC completes a 400-MT girder bridge load test in Gujarat, strengthening its capability to handle heavy and oversized project cargo of up to 500 MT.
NTC has completed the third load test of its specialised girder bridge, strengthening its capabilities to handle oversized and heavy project cargo movements of up to 500 metric tonnes.
The latest test involved moving a 400-MT load from NTC’s Baroda Service Centre to Por in Gujarat, covering approximately 40 kilometres. The girder bridge is designed to distribute massive loads across an extended length of up to 70 metres, enabling safer and more controlled transportation of heavy cargo.
The heavy-haul solution uses multi-axle configurations and hydraulic suspension systems to optimise weight distribution. Bolsters and steerable multi-wheel trailers provide greater manoeuvrability, allowing long and heavy loads to navigate turns and challenging road conditions.
According to NTC, the equipment is designed as a ready-to-deploy solution for complex project cargo movements, helping improve operational efficiency while reducing transportation time and logistics costs.
The successful third load test reflects NTC’s continued investment in specialised equipment and engineering capabilities to support the movement of high-weight and oversized cargo.
