CJ Logistics raises stake in CJ Darcl with $32 million investment
The stake has been raised from 50% to 56%.;
CJ Logistics Corporation of South Korea invested USD 32 million into CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd. to increase its stake from 50% to 56%. The transaction, comprising a mix of primary and secondary investment, was carried out to strengthen CJ Darcl’s capital base.
It supports the company’s expansion in multimodal infrastructure, warehousing, digital supply chain solutions and alternative fuel platforms. CJ Logistics first partnered with the Indian firm in 2017, and the remaining 44 per cent stake remains with the founding Darcl promoters and affiliates.
The deal is positioned to support CJ Darcl’s long-term growth strategy in India’s logistics market. It also reflects the deepening collaboration between the two firms. The capital will be used to expand services across the country and invest in logistics technology and green transport solutions.
“The capital will enable us to scale our integrated offerings, invest in next-generation technologies, and drive sustainable growth. We are creating a future-ready logistics enterprise that blends Indian depth with global excellence,” said K.K. Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, CJ Darcl Logistics Ltd.
Gwon Woong Kim, Head of APAC Headquarters, CJ Logistics Corporation, said, “India is entering a transformative era in logistics and remains a cornerstone of CJ Logistics’ global strategy. Just as we witnessed a shift from unorganised to organised infrastructure in Korean markets during the 1990s, we see India poised for similar acceleration."
CJ Darcl operates across India with about 200 branches and a workforce of over 5,000 people. It serves more than 2,000 customers across sectors and offers services that include road, rail, air and coastal transport, along with warehousing and project logistics.
