Bijliride has partnered with Flipkart Minutes to deploy electric two-wheelers for last-mile deliveries across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune ahead of the festive season.
The electric vehicle deployment will be rolled out in phases across the five markets. Instead of maintaining a fixed fleet size, Bijliride will scale vehicle availability based on delivery demand and rider onboarding requirements.
The partnership supports Flipkart’s plan to move towards 100% electric mobility by 2030 and integrates with its EV Assist initiative.
Bijliride, which has more than 6,000 electric vehicles deployed across India, will provide delivery partners with commercial rental plans, battery swapping and doorstep battery delivery. The company will also offer fleet maintenance, 24/7 on-road assistance and telematics-based fleet management.
Shivam Sisodiya, Founder and CEO of Bijliride, said the partnership aims to make electric mobility practical and scalable for commercial logistics. He said vehicle uptime directly affects the livelihood of delivery partners and that the company’s on-road support, battery infrastructure and rental services are designed to provide economic value to delivery platforms and delivery executives.
The partnership also focuses on reducing operating costs for gig workers. Fuel is one of the major recurring expenses for riders using conventional internal combustion engine two-wheelers. Bijliride’s asset-light rental model allows riders to avoid upfront vehicle costs while reducing their operating cost per kilometre.
Ahead of the festive shopping period, Bijliride and Flipkart Minutes have also introduced festive rental benefits and prioritised vehicle availability. The companies said this will help delivery partners increase their on-road earning hours without maintenance constraints.
