Amazon India will invest over INR 2000 crore (approximately USD 233 million) in 2025 to expand and upgrade its pan-India operations network. The investment will support infrastructure expansion, employee and associate welfare initiatives, and the development of new technology tools. The announcement was made on June 19, 2025, as part of Amazon’s ongoing commitment to enhance logistics, improve delivery speed and reliability, and strengthen its presence across the country.

According to the company, the investment will be used to launch new sites and upgrade existing ones across its fulfilment, sortation, and delivery network. The enhancements are expected to improve processing capacity and delivery efficiency. Amazon stated that both new and existing buildings will incorporate efficient building systems and be designed to support inclusivity and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Abhinav Singh, VP - Operations, Amazon India and Australia, said, “These latest investments reflect our commitment to continually expand and upgrade our operations across our fulfilment, sortation and delivery network. By strengthening our infrastructure capabilities, enhancing processing capacity, and implementing state-of-the-art technology, we're positioning Amazon to better serve customers throughout India while supporting our employees, associates and partners, who are the heart of it all.”

Amazon also announced plans to scale up its health and financial well-being initiatives for employees and associates. Programmes include ‘Ashray’ rest points for delivery associates, ‘Samridhi’ financial education, ‘Pratidhi’ scholarships for associates’ children, and ‘Sushruta’ for truck driver healthcare. A nationwide initiative offering free health check-ups for over 80,000 delivery associates and partners is also underway.

On the technology front, Amazon is enhancing its delivery and safety systems. New tools will help monitor unsafe speeds, ensure proper helmet use, and distribute delivery routes more equitably. Upgrades to the Driver app will offer improved earnings transparency and simplify navigation. The company is also introducing photo- and video-based item verification to reduce errors and cognitive load.

Amazon’s operations network currently enables delivery to all serviceable pin codes in India. This latest investment builds on its efforts to scale infrastructure and innovation in support of its customers, workforce, and seller partners across the country.
