Allcargo Logistics appoints Vijay Nehra as MD Designate

Vijay Nehra will take over as Allcargo Logistics’ MD & CEO from January 2027, while Ketan Kulkarni moves to the Group’s Chief Growth Officer role.

Allcargo Logistics has announced a leadership transition aimed at accelerating growth, strengthening its talent pool and supporting the company’s next phase of development following the broader restructuring of the Allcargo Group.

As part of the transition, Vijay Nehra has been appointed Chief Transformation Officer and Managing Director Designate of Allcargo Logistics, effective October 1, 2026. He will work alongside the existing leadership during the transition period before taking over as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer from January 1, 2027, subject to the requisite shareholder approvals.

Nehra’s appointment is expected to place greater emphasis on transformation, operational excellence and long-term growth as Allcargo Logistics moves forward with its strategic realignment.

Meanwhile, Ketan Kulkarni, the company’s current Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, will become Chief Growth Officer, Allcargo Group, effective January 1, 2027. In his new role, Kulkarni will lead sales and marketing initiatives across the Group, with a focus on identifying growth opportunities in emerging industries and developing new avenues for value creation.

The changes follow the strategic restructuring undertaken after the demerger of the Allcargo Group, under which businesses have moved towards more focused leadership and governance structures. The appointment of Dinesh Lal as Chairman of Allcargo Logistics was another step in strengthening the company’s leadership framework.

Both Nehra and Kulkarni will report to Punit Misra, Chief Business Officer, Allcargo Group, as part of the new leadership structure.

Meanwhile, Ketan Kulkarni’s broader Group mandate will focus on identifying new growth opportunities, particularly in emerging industries, and creating additional avenues for value generation across the Group.

Nehra brings extensive leadership experience across multiple industries and functional areas, with senior roles spanning financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, e-commerce and technology-driven businesses. He began his career in supply chain at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), before moving into senior sales and customer management roles. He later served as Head of Finance at Indiabulls Real Estate and Indiabulls Housing Finance, followed by his appointment as CEO of Indiabulls Asset Reconstruction Company, building broad general management expertise across his career.

Prior to joining Allcargo Logistics, Nehra served as CEO of Ozone Pharma. A Master Mariner by profession, he holds a postgraduate programme in management from ISB, Hyderabad, and a Bachelor of Nautical Sciences from T. S. Chanakya, University of Mumbai.
