Transport Corporation of India (TCI) has unveiled one of its largest warehouses in Kolkata, marking a significant expansion of its logistics footprint in Eastern and Northeastern India. The new facility, located in CGTA Nagar, spans 3 lakh sq. ft. across 10.5 acres and is designed to serve as a key hub for cross-border trade with Bhutan, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia.
The warehouse is equipped to cater to multiple industries including automotive, e-commerce, FMCG, retail and textiles, while also providing cold-chain solutions. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, CEO of TCI Supply Chain Solutions, said the facility reflects the region’s growing economic activity, supported by state government policies and enhanced connectivity to Northeast India through strategic infrastructure investments. He added that the warehouse features a futuristic, eco-conscious design, making supply chains more sustainable.
TCI shares a historic connection with Kolkata, having been established in the city in 1958 by founder Shri Prabhu Dayal Agarwal. The company has since grown into one of India’s largest multimodal logistics providers.
The new warehouse incorporates fly ash brick construction, rainwater harvesting, natural lighting, low-VOC paints, ultra-flat laser screed flooring, robotics-compatible infrastructure and energy-efficient designs, ensuring high-volume, future-ready operations.
