DP World Cochin witnesses 25% growth in October 2017

The growth is due to the rise in cargo traffic from the hinterland of Tamil Nadu which consists of cargoes like coir, coco peat, garments, activated carbon and various machinery.

November 3, 2017: Global trade enabler DP World operated India Gateway Terminal handled more than 51,000 TEUs in October. The growth is due to the rise in cargo traffic from the hinterland of Tamil Nadu which consists of cargoes like coir, coco peat, garments, activated carbon and various machinery. The terminal witnessed a 25 percent growth in volume in October 2017 compared to its performance in October 2016.

The terminal hosts three direct sailings to the Middle East, and four sailings to Colombo per week. Through its feeder network, it is connected to other Indian ports on both coasts, including Mundra, Pipavav, Nhava Sheva, Goa, Mangalore, Tuticorin, Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
