DICT handles 10,000 TEUs per month in FY 2018-19

DICT handles 10,000 TEUs per month in FY 2018-19

December 3, 2018: In the financial year of 2018-19, Delhi International Cargo Terminal (DICT) has achieved an average volume of 10,000 TEUs per month. With its highest volume of 11107 TEUs which was achieved in April 2018, DICT has climbed up the ranks to be the top private inland container depot in the National Capital Region, in terms of handling the EXIM volume.

DICT is a multi-user logistics park that provides end-to-end solutions to its customers. It is located off the National Highway 1, approximately 70 km to the north of New Delhi.

The terminal is ideally placed to serve customers from regions like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Some of the major export commodities like rice, polymers, carpets, meat products, terry towels, food items, agriculture implants, and engineering goods etc. are handled, including import items like waste paper, polymer, calcium carbonate, rags, paper, scrap, auto parts, food items, and plastic goods etc.

DICT offers a door-to-door solution, conducts knowledge sharing session for their key clients and their direct interaction with team members. It has also developed a service for the customer base in North India of carrying the import reefer containers by train, which in turn has generated confidence amongst the customers for importing temperature sensitive cargo at DICT.

Some of the salient features of DICT include a dedicated paved yard for export, import and empty container storage, rail services with 2 handling rail lines, pilferage free facility with 27 x 7 IT and technology support, RFID facility for container tracking, GPS enabled rail and road tracking, transit warehouse and public bonded facility and a customer-centric approach.

It has gained the trust of all major shipping lines, in a short span of time, like Maersk, MSC, CMA-CGM, Hapag Llyod, KMTC, Emirates, ONE shipping, OOCL, ZIM line, and Hamburg SUD.
