Etihad Cargo boosts winter 2025 capacity with new routes
New routes and added frequencies to Asia, Europe and the Middle East strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role as a key logistics hub.;
Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways, has announced an expansion of its freighter network for the Winter 2025 schedule, adding new routes and increased flight frequencies across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. The move is expected to enhance air connectivity between India and key global trade corridors through Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a major logistics hub connecting East and West.
The updated schedule includes two new weekly freighter flights from Abu Dhabi to East Midlands in the United Kingdom, one of the country’s busiest freight hubs. The new route, effective from 27 October, will connect Abu Dhabi to the UK’s main distribution network for both domestic and European deliveries, strengthening trade flows that also support Indian exporters routing shipments through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
Etihad Cargo is also adding capacity across major Asian production markets, with additional flights to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Ezhou. These expansions coincide with the carrier’s participation at Air Cargo Southeast Asia (ACSA) 2025, a leading regional event for the air freight industry. The airline’s growing footprint across Asia supports trade growth from markets like India that depend on efficient connections for manufacturing and export activity.
In addition, the carrier will operate more weekly freighter services to Riyadh, Paris Charles de Gaulle, and Frankfurt, enhancing flexibility for customers and ensuring smooth movement of goods across key international markets.
The freighter expansion follows Etihad Airways’ recent announcement of 16 new passenger destinations launching between November 2025 and March 2026, broadening overall network connectivity.
Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer of Etihad Airways, said the expanded schedule reflects the carrier’s focus on reliability and care in cargo operations. “Every shipment represents a connection that matters. Increasing our network capacity and introducing new trade routes means giving our customers more ways to move their goods with reliability and care,” he stated.
With the Winter 2025 expansion, Etihad Cargo continues to strengthen its position as a global connector linking major economic hubs. For India, this translates into improved access to international markets, greater efficiency in logistics, and stronger participation in global supply chains through Abu Dhabi’s growing cargo network.
