Indicold opens second frozen ASRS facility in Gujarat
The new facility designed for precision temperature control for -20°C has integrated WMS for real-time traceability and energy-efficient design to minimize temperature loss.

Indicold today launched its second fully automated frozen facility-a 10,000-pallet, 90,000-sq ft ASRS warehouse in Detroj, Gujarat.
The facility designed for precision temperature control for -20°C has integrated WMS for real-time traceability and energy-efficient design to minimize temperature loss. It supports industries from agri-food businesses and QSR brands to FMCG majors and exporters.
In 2024, Indicold commissioned India's first fully automated high-bay frozen ASRS warehouse in Dholasan, Gujarat with 7,500+ pallet capacity.
India's cold storage and warehousing sector, valued at over $240 billion in 2024, is projected to more than double to $600 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 16%.
“With increasing demand from food processing, pharmaceuticals, exports, and e-commerce, Indicold is shaping a resilient infrastructure to meet the needs of tomorrow,” a company informed.
Indicold runs 17 cold chain facilities throughout the country and three in Gujarat.
Founded by Kartik Jalan and Niharika Jalan, and backed by Fundalogical Ventures, Indicold achieved 3x year-on-year growth and aims to reach 1.2 million pallet capacity by 2028.
"At Indicold, we care about the people who make the cold chain run, the community we live in, the environment we operate in, and the product integrity we protect,” said Kartik Jalan, Founder, Indicold.
The facility was introduced at a supply chain Conference -Indicold NXT-led by Indicold's founders along with voices in procurement and supply chain from the food, dairy, and ice cream industries.
"When we built our first facility, we focused on delivering value first. Today, with real experience behind us, we're taking the next step forward, with humility and a clear purpose." said Jalan.
It marks India's first deployment of a Four- Way Shuttle ASRS system in the frozen segment.
“Unlike traditional systems, this technology can be retrofitted into existing warehouses, allowing for operational efficiency without the need for entirely new infrastructure,” the company informed.
The company informed that the first rack-clad frozen facility has directly inspired two similar cold storage projects currentky under construction, and many more manufacturers and 3PL providers are now activety exploring this model to modernize their own supply chains.
"We feel humbled and privileged to have sparked this movement toward smarter, more sustainable infrastructure," said Niharika Jalan. Founder Indicold. "Our hope is that this sets the stage for a new era of cold chain transformation - where innovation and efficiency go hand in hand."
