VO Chidambaranar Port Trust sets new cargo handling record
November 20, 2017: Surpassing its very recent record of handling 1,65,189 metric tonnes, VO Chidambaranar Port Trust has created a new record within five days by handling 1,77,639 tonnes of cargo in a single day.

November 20, 2017: Surpassing its very recent record of handling 1,65,189 metric tonnes, VO Chidambaranar Port Trust has created a new record within five days by handling 1,77,639 tonnes of cargo in a single day.
The major cargoes that contributed to the achievement are limestone, industrial coal, thermal coal, wheat, copper concentrate, granite, general cargoes and containerized cargoes.
Port chairman I Jeyakumar stated that the port is continuously striving to achieve improvement in performance and productivity in order to attract more volume of traffic through the Port.
Earlier in October, the port implemented integrated management system, complying ISO Certifications like ‘Quality Management System’, ‘Environment Management System’ and ‘Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series’ under one system.
