February 1, 2018: Visakha Container Terminal’s operations team of VCT handled 2,823 TEUs in 23 hours with ship productivity of 104 moves per hour.
The vessel M. V. Ever Delight of Evergreen Shipping in CCG Service (Chennai-Colombo-Gulf) arrived at VCT recently, when the operations team effectively and efficiently handled the loading and discharging of containers onto the vessel as per the vessel plan provided by the operators.
The process, which included the export of 1,024 TEUs and import of 1,799 TEUs, was completed under the guidance of shift in-charge, berth executives, yard executives, planners and other key members. Rail mounted quay cranes and rubber tyre gantry cranes were used for the operations.
