Paradip Port Authority in Odisha and AM/NS Ports have signed a concession agreement to mechanise the CQ-III berth to handle dry bulk cargo. The agreement was signed in Bhubaneswar on 29 September 2025.

It involves a 30-year concession period and covers the handling and shipment of iron ore pellets using a mechanised conveying system and a ship loader. The objective is to improve cargo handling through mechanisation.

The agreement was executed by Himanshu Sekhar Rout, Chief Engineer of PPA, and Subhakant Dash, authorised signatory of AM/NS Ports. The signing was attended by P.L. Haranadh, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority, and Suresha G., Chief of Odisha Operations of AM/NS India, along with senior officials from both organisations.

Haranadh said the project is an important step towards improving berth productivity and promoting eco-friendly coastal cargo handling operations.

Suresha said, “This partnership marks a pivotal moment in our journey to modernise port operations and support industrial growth in the region. The mechanisation of the CQ-III berth will reinforce our commitment to operational excellence and environmental sustainability.”

The project is expected to strengthen AM/NS India’s logistics network and support the transformation of Paradip Port Authority into a port hub.
