Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has appointed ATAI, an AI technology company specialising in supply chain, logistics and port automation solutions, as an advisor to provide strategic and technical guidance for its AI/ML-enabled Digital Twin project.
The initiative aims to create a dynamic virtual replica of JNPA's port operations by integrating real-time data. The technology is expected to provide better visibility, predictive planning and data-driven decision-making across operations.
ATAI will advise JNPA on the strategic and technical aspects of the Digital Twin initiative. The company will bring its expertise in AI-driven supply chain and logistics solutions, along with port-domain knowledge and experience in automating gate, yard, rail and crane operations across global ports and terminals.
Gangadhar Gude, Founder and CEO, ATAI, said the appointment reflects the industry's trust in the company's capabilities and its work in AI for port operations.
“We started ATAI to prove that Indian-built AI could automate port operations anywhere in the world,” Gude said. “Being asked to advise on the Digital Twin vision for India's largest port authority is a clear signal that we've built something the industry trusts at scale.”
Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, Deputy Chairman, JNPA, said the initiative is a step towards future-ready port operations, with a focus on predictive planning, safety standards and hinterland connectivity.
JNPA said the Digital Twin technology will help build a smarter, more connected and future-ready port by using data to support operational planning and decision-making.
