India’s marine exports have reached a record ₹72,325.82 crore ($8.28 billion) in 2025–26, despite ongoing geopolitical disruptions, tariff pressures and volatile global trade conditions.
The country exported 1.93 million tonnes of seafood during the period, marking an all-time high in both value and volume, according to the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).
The strong performance highlights the sector’s resilience in a challenging global environment, as it continues to contribute to export growth. It also plays a key role in supporting millions of livelihoods across India’s coastal communities.
