September 11, 2019: Schenker India has launched Connect 4.0 Ocean, an online portal streamlining shipping processes to deliver a seamless interface for its customers.

The platform aims to enhance logistics services' efficiency by helping customers customise the shipping services like getting real-time instant quotes, book and track a shipment with 24/7 online visibility from pick up to delivery.

"Access to Connect 4.0 Ocean services would significantly help in enhancing the business efficiency of shippers. Digitisation in logistics is a global necessity and this development is a step forward to further capitalise on the growing logistics market in India," said Vishal Sharma, chief executive officer, India & Indian Sub-Continent, Schenker India Private Limited.

Schenker India is a subsidiary of DB Schenker, the transport and logistics division of Deutsche Bahn Group. Its clients are spread across verticals like aerospace, electronics, industrial, automotive, retail & consumer and healthcare. Through Connect 4.0 Ocean, the company aims to provide hassle-free logistics and real time tracking through technology deployment.

Sharma added that India is a priority market for DB Schenker globally. "With implementation of GST and emphasis on growing digitally, the company is aggressively focussed on developing local logistics capabilities, since SMEs contribute to 40 percent of the nation’s exports," he said.
