CONCOR launches assured transit service from Bengaluru to Delhi
The new assured transit service will connect Whitefield in Bengaluru with Tughlakabad in New Delhi, improving freight connectivity and supporting regional industries.
CONCOR launches assured transit container train service from ICD Whitefield in Bengaluru to ICD Tughlakabad in New Delhi on September 5. The new container train service connecting Whitefield with Tughlakabad was flagged off from Whitefield Railway Station, marking the first such initiative in South India.
The service is expected to strengthen domestic freight connectivity and benefit industries across Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Hosur, Kolar, Krishnagiri and surrounding areas. It will facilitate the safe, reliable and timely movement of raw materials and finished goods while providing businesses with access to larger markets.
With assured and predictable transit times, the service is expected to support industrial growth across the region and enhance the efficiency of domestic freight movement. The initiative also marks a step towards increasing the share of railways in India's freight transportation and provides an environment-friendly alternative to road and air freight.
The Minister of State for Railways, V. Somanna, flagged off a container train service alongside Manjula S., MLA, Mahadevapura; Ajit Kumar Panda, CMD, CONCOR; and Shri Parikshit Mohanpuria, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru, who were also present at the event.
