Central Railway begins automobile loading at Igatpuri shed

Central Railway has commenced automobile loading operations at the Igatpuri Goods Shed, marking a new development in its freight services.
The first indent for automobile loading using NMG rakes has been placed by Transport Corporation of India for movement from Igatpuri (IGP) to Nautanwa (NTV) in the Lucknow Division of North Eastern Railway.
According to the post, a total of 100 cars were loaded in 25 NMG wagons, generating a revenue of ₹17.16 lakh per rake.
Central Railway stated that this initiative is aimed at enhancing logistics efficiency while promoting faster, cost-effective and sustainable freight movement. It added that the move supports growth and contributes to greener transportation.
