Senior railway engineer Alok Tiwari has taken over the additional charge as Managing Director of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). A 1988-batch Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer, Tiwari is currently serving as Additional Member (Bridge) at the Railway Board.

Tiwari assumed the additional responsibility on October 1 while continuing in his existing role at the Railway Board. The arrangement will remain effective until further orders.

Tiwari brings more than 36 years of experience in Indian Railways, with a career spanning infrastructure planning, construction, project execution, safety, freight operations and administration. He has been associated with the complete lifecycle of major railway infrastructure projects and has directly constructed and commissioned more than 1,000 km of railway infrastructure.

He has held several senior positions across railway construction, safety and operations. These include Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) at South East Central Railway, Principal Chief Safety Officer at South Western Railway and Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal Division.

Tiwari has also served as Chief Project Manager-cum-Group General Manager at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), where he was involved in large-scale railway infrastructure project execution.

His experience across railway infrastructure, freight operations, safety and project management comes as DFCCIL continues to develop and operate India’s Dedicated Freight Corridor network.
