Railway safety prime focus for new Railway Minister
September 4, 2017: Piyush Goyal, who took charge of the Railway Ministry on Monday from Suresh Prabhu, has reiterated that ensuring safety and convenience of passengers would be his prime focus.

September 4, 2017: Piyush Goyal, who took charge of the Railway Ministry on Monday from Suresh Prabhu, has reiterated that ensuring safety and convenience of passengers would be his prime focus.
Prabhu has been given the charge of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking to journalists recently, Goyal said, “The focus of the Rail Ministry will continue to be safety and convenience of passengers.”
“Huge investments in Railways have been made in past three years which will definitely lead to the development in Railways.
“Indian Railways shall continue on the roadmap of development,” he said.
During his 33 year long political career, he has held several important positions at different levels in the BJP and is in the National Executive of the Party.
Prior to this, he was Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Ministries of Power; Coal; New and Renewable Energy & Mines. He continues to hold coal portfolio.
