FedEx DWC hub serving India gains IATA CEIV Pharma certification
FedEx’s Dubai World Central hub, serving India and Africa, has secured IATA CEIV Pharma certification after an assessment of more than 280 criteria.

FedEx has secured IATA CEIV Pharma certification for its Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa hub at Dubai World Central (DWC) in the UAE.
The certification follows an assessment of more than 280 criteria covering operational processes, storage facilities, equipment, quality management systems and regulatory compliance. It is aimed at helping safeguard pharmaceutical shipments throughout the supply chain.
The DWC hub spans 57,000 square metres and includes advanced automation, high-speed security screening, dangerous goods handling facilities and a 170-square-metre temperature-controlled storage area for sensitive healthcare shipments.
The certification comes after FedEx reached 30 IATA CEIV Pharma certifications globally in August 2026. The milestone extended the certification across its global air hubs and cargo handling facilities and expanded the network recognised for pharmaceutical handling standards.
The CEIV Pharma certification is awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to assess whether facilities and processes meet standards for handling time-sensitive and temperature-controlled pharmaceutical shipments.
FedEx said the DWC certification is part of its wider initiative to build a healthcare logistics network with pharmaceutical handling standards across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
The company also combines its AI-powered FedEx Surround monitoring and intervention solution with FedEx SenseAware sensor technology to provide near real-time information on package location, temperature and environmental conditions.
“Achieving the CEIV Pharma certification reflects our continued commitment to delivering healthcare logistics services that meet the highest international standards,” said Taarek Hinedi, Vice President Operations and Planning & Engineering at FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
FedEx said the DWC certification also supports the UAE's role as a regional healthcare and life sciences hub.
