Zvi Schreiber, the founder of Freightos (NASDAQ: CRGO), has officially marked his final day as Chief Executive Officer, concluding a 14-year journey.

While the succession process was first signalled in December 2025, Schreiber took to LinkedIn today to share a personal reflection on his departure, effective January 31, 2026.

Schreiber founded Freightos in 2012 after his own frustrations with the manual process of freight quoting while serving as CEO of Lightech (later acquired by GE). Over the next 14 years, he scaled the company from a startup into one of the world’s largest digital international freight booking platforms.

“After 14 intense years since I founded the company," Schreiber wrote, “today is my official last day at Freightos.”

“I'm proud of what we achieved in helping to modernise and digitalise international shipping, especially air cargo, and the network we built of thousands of carriers, freight forwarders, and shippers.”

“But we are still far from our goal of making international freight smooth to improve global trade, so I'm leaving plenty of challenges for the outstanding team at Freightos,” he added.

Under his leadership, Freightos listed on the NASDAQ in early 2023 and scaled the platform to an annualised run rate of 1.7 million bookings with over $1 billion in Gross Booking Value (GBV).

As previously announced, Pablo Pinillos, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, assumes the role of interim CEO effective February 1, 2026. “The board has begun a comprehensive executive search to identify the leader who will guide the company’s continued evolution in the years ahead,” as the company informed earlier.

Schreiber isn't leaving the company entirely; he will continue to serve as a non-executive board member, providing ongoing guidance to fulfil the company’s vision for digital freight pricing, procurement and booking.
