Yamato Logistics India, a subsidiary of Japan’s Yamato Holdings, opened the NH8 (Sidhrawali) Logistics Center in Haryana on January 8, 2026, marking the Yamato Group’s largest overseas logistics base. The new facility aims to support rising manufacturing activity in India and help manufacturers build stronger global supply chains.

Located in northern India, the NH8 Logistics Center will provide Japanese-standard contract logistics services. It is designed to meet the needs of manufacturers expanding production in India, as well as in emerging markets across the Middle East and Africa. The company said it will use its experience with Japanese manufacturing customers and its global network to address supply chain challenges.

The opening comes at a time when India’s manufacturing sector is growing due to rising domestic demand, global supply chain restructuring, and the government’s “Make in India” initiative. Manufacturing activity in sectors such as automobiles, electrical equipment and semiconductors has increased, leading to higher demand for logistics services. However, the country continues to face shortages in logistics infrastructure and experienced logistics operators.

The NH8 Logistics Center is located along a key highway connecting the Delhi National Capital Region with Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. Several industrial parks with assembly plants and suppliers are located nearby, allowing the facility to function as a gateway warehouse and cross-dock. Its proximity to inland container depots and an international airport also positions it as a transit hub for domestic and international logistics.

The facility has a total floor area of about 24,900 square metres, with parts of the warehouse equipped with air conditioning. This allows it to store temperature-sensitive items such as circuit boards and precision equipment. The centre is within short distances of major industrial areas, inland container depots and Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Yamato Logistics India plans to promote green logistics at the site in the future by installing solar panels and introducing electric vehicles. These initiatives are expected to help customers reduce greenhouse gas emissions under Scope 3.

Yamato Group considers India a priority market under its medium-term management plan, citing the country’s rapid economic growth. Yamato Logistics India was established in 2008 and provides Japanese-standard contract logistics services, mainly to the manufacturing sector, including Japanese automobile manufacturers.

The company’s services include just-in-time logistics, where parts are collected from factories, sorted at logistics centres and delivered to production lines at the required time. It also offers distribution processing such as parts assembly and simple assembly work. Yamato Logistics India said it continues to improve productivity, quality and safety through Japanese-style improvement practices, local staff training and specialised packaging services suited to India’s climate and transport conditions.
