Porter, a digital goods transport company, has expanded its operations into eight new cities across six states as part of its plan to strengthen its national presence and improve goods movement for MSMEs.

The company has entered Mysore in Karnataka, Madurai in Tamil Nadu, Jabalpur and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, Meerut and Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Aurangabad in Maharashtra, and Thrissur in Kerala. The expansion aims to bring more organised and technology-enabled goods transport services to these regions.

Porter has started operations with two-wheeler logistics services in the first phase. It plans to introduce larger vehicle categories such as three-wheelers and Tata Ace vehicles in the coming months. The two-wheeler service is designed to operate in narrow streets, crowded markets, and dense commercial areas, offering MSMEs a reliable option for goods transport.

The company said its services address challenges such as unorganised transport systems, lack of scalable two-wheeler logistics, low reliability, and limited customer support. By offering digital, on-demand services, Porter aims to improve MSME productivity and reduce operational costs through GST-compliant billing and documentation.

With its multi-city presence and simplified invoicing, Porter enables businesses to expand beyond their local markets and operate more efficiently in a competitive and increasingly digital environment.

The newly added cities represent key regional economies with strong MSME activity. Mysore and Madurai are known for textiles and light manufacturing, while Jabalpur and Gwalior have engineering and handicraft-based industries. Meerut and Agra are hubs for sports goods, hardware, leather, and handicrafts. Aurangabad has automobile-related industries, and Thrissur is known for textiles and coir-based businesses. These regions require reliable intracity logistics to support regular business operations.

Ankit Dwivedi, Vice President – Expansion at Porter, said the move reflects the company’s focus on improving intracity logistics in Tier II and Tier III cities. He said MSMEs in these regions depend on consistent and reliable goods movement, which is often affected by infrastructure challenges and fragmented supply systems. He added that the expansion aims to provide dependable, technology-driven logistics solutions to help businesses manage costs and expand beyond local markets, while also creating livelihood opportunities for driver-partners.

Porter has onboarded around 4,000 driver-partners across the new cities and expects this to grow, with the potential to generate over 64,000 jobs within the first year of operations. The company currently serves more than 36 lakh customers every quarter across the six states and has onboarded over 12 lakh driver-partners so far.
