Kuehne+Nagel has announced that it is expanding its fulfilment network in India by adding 100,000 square metres across five new centres in Gurgaon, Kolkata, Nagpur, Mumbai, and Rajpura.

The expansion, which raises the company’s total fulfilment footprint to nearly 500,000 sqm, will generate over 1,500 new jobs. The company said the move supports growing logistics demand, driven by India’s rapid economic expansion and the rise of the high-tech, automotive, consumer goods, and healthcare sectors.

The new facilities feature automation technologies such as telescopic conveyors and advanced sorting systems, enabling a 75% increase in the capacity for handling peak orders. By expanding across tier-1 to tier-3 cities, Kuehne+Nagel aims to strengthen its position in India’s multi-city industrial growth landscape. Gurgaon and Nagpur are emerging as logistics hubs for multiple sectors, while Rajpura is gaining importance in manufacturing and distribution.

“India is a key growth market for Kuehne+Nagel,” said Damian Raczynski, Senior Vice President, Contract Logistics, Kuehne+Nagel Asia Pacific. “We invest where our customers are — and this expansion strengthens our ability to serve high-demand sectors like consumer and healthcare with speed, reliability, and flexibility.”

Kuehne+Nagel employs more than 82,000 people at nearly 1,300 sites across close to 100 countries. Headquartered in Switzerland, the group is a global leader in air and sea logistics, with strong positions in road and contract logistics.
